This is me and one of the most amazing women in my life, my great grandmother Lois Bell Crowder. Great Granny as I refered to her as, passed away this last Saturday night in her sleep at the ripe old age of 93. This women was such an inspiration to me for a long time because of her hard life growing up and also living in a nursing home happily under tough circumstances for many years.

There are things that in her life were everyday routines that I hope that I can strive to become. This woman was humorous, no matter what the situation was. She was always willing to joke around when my awkward family brought major awkward moments. It was always awesome.

Not only was her life an inspiration but her witness. I find myself finding it hard to witness sometimes because of situations I am in and worrying about what people will think, but this woman witnessed right up to the last night of her life. She helped to bring one of her new nurses to Christ the night that she passed.

So many things in her life were unacclaimed because of the situations she grew up in and the tough life she led but I am glad to honor her life this week and I hope to be more like her in my life.

The People with the Big Ideas

Well, I just returned from my Advertising class and I was truly inspired! We discussed creativity and the origin of it inside people. Not only was this subject very interesting but also the fact that we discussed the atmosphere of an ad agency and oh, how amazing it sounded! But back to the matter at hand, creativity.

The people who have creativity are the people with the BIG IDEAS. And greatly enough, you aren't born with creativity. Creativity is nurtured. You have to develop your skills and abilities to become creative. Dr. Gillespie also told us of the 3 Characteristics a creative person has: risk taker, divergent thinking, and sense of humor.

And so I thought to myself, where do I fit into this whole scheme? Am I creative? I know I have capabilities but I know I am in the growth stage. That is why I am super excited about this school year and all of the endless possibilities my classes are giving me.

So as this was a lecture on creativity, it was also a pre-game pep talk for me. This year I have endless possibilities to improve on everything I have learned and then some. I am so excited at the vast area ahead of me for me to fill!
